50 SHADES OF BNEI BRAK WITH MAX IZIKSON

We organized our first excursion ever to Bnei Brak with guide, Maxim Izikson, who showed us the multifaceted life of this city in 3 hours. The participants discovered the vast religious world of this densely populated city, including the main synagogues, which have a long history, the most famous yeshiva in Israel and other key buildings. We discussed how residents of Bnei Brak cope with living in a world of temptations and non-kosher Internet, the Yiddish many residents speak, popular foods and music, and how they find their soulmates! Max also addressed the complex relationship between ultra- Orthodox Jews and the State of Israel, from the country’s founding to the present day. We finished this fascinating tour with the owner of a religious headwear store, who described in detail the symbolic basis of different religious wardrobe items.
