WHAT DOES KIBBUTZ YAD MORDECHAY REMEMBER
19.04.2021
Our trip to Kibbutz Yad Mordechay was devoted to several important dates: Yom HaShoa, Yom HaZikaron and Yom Haatzmaut. We visited the exhibitions showing the role of the Kibbutz in the Independence war, including members memories of the events. In the second hall we explored pre-war Warsaw and Jewish life before the Nazi atrocities began in Poland. Then we went to the model of Warsaw Ghetto and talked about how Jews lived in the Ghetto and the role of Mordechai Anilevich. At the Cemetery we remembered the Independence war and its impact on our lives today. We finished our tour in the hall dedicated to water resources of the desert about modern Yad Mordekhay.
This one of the best museums dedicated to the Shoa that I have never seen. Many thanks to Asya for this wonderful tour, and all the interesting and well-structured information. The fact that kibbutz is one of the biggest honey manufacturers makes me want to come back and taste some honey next time.
