BUS TOUR. THE HISTORY OF THE BEERSHEBA VALLEY FROM ABRAHAM TO BEN GURION

05.11.2021

In this eventful journey, we got acquainted with the history of the development of human civilization in the area of the Beer Sheva Valley from ancient times to the formation of the State of Israel. We visited Tel Arad and excavated the most ancient city in Israel and the ancient Israeli fortress located next to it. During the excavations, scientists' expanded their ideas about the religion of Ancient Israel.

Afterwards we walked in the Yatir forest - the largest artificially planted forest in our country. We visited the ruins of an ancient synagogue of the Byzantine period, examined the ancient Tel Beer Sheva, and got acquainted with the work of famous Israeli sculptor Dani Karavan at the monument of the "Negev" brigade.

I have been living in Israel for ten years, mostly spending my time between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. But I only visited the area of Beersheva a few times. This tour allowed us to get a closer look at the southern capital of Israel, with its history in Tel Arad and its nature in the lush Yatir forest. Thanks for showing me these places!
