BEERSHEVA WALKING TOUR - «FROM ABRAHAM TO AUSTRALIAN BEER»

15.07.2022

We walked around Beersheva with our fantastic tour guide and friend Michael Rudnitskiy, starting from the Beit Avraham innovation center and then walking along the banks of the biblical Beersheva River and the entrance to the Old City. Here we learned the ancient history of Beersheva and our forefather Abraham and continued our journey through the city to Beit Bira (Beer House), learning how beer and Australia are connected to the history of Beersheva. We heard the personal story of a long-time resident of our city, and, of course, tasted beer prepared according to Australian recipes.

I learned a lot of exciting things from Michael about the climate and geography of Beersheva and how it influenced the processes that took place here. We heard the story of the seven wells and Abraham, how Gilad, the owner of a small brewery moved to Beersheba and started brewing Australian beer. We sampled several beers and learned the exciting story of Australian Lighthorse that ended up on the bottles’ label.
