Shortly before Pesach we launched our new Shabbat and Holiday Hospitality website for Russian-speaking Olim – Shabbat.Host!
We set up about 70 Olim in host families, including new Olim from the war zone who sought a family Seder atmosphere.
Our Haifa Coordinator, Lidia, husband Eddy and new baby Eyla, welcomed 18 guests to their Seder in their cozy apartment courtyard.
They read the Haggadah together, ate delicious food, drank good wine, and began the holiday in large and cheerful company.
It was my first Passover Seder, and I really enjoyed it! I was worried that it would be challenging for me, but everything turned out to be fun and dynamic, and with such great people. Thank you for organizing and inviting me!

Just before Pesah we met in a beautiful and unique place - Mikve Israel - the first jewish agricultural school in Palestine. The place that has many stories to tell. The history of Israeli first settlers became more clear and understandable thanks to Inna Gorshtein. Inna told us about the first settlement and the dreams of "jewish boys and girls with a shovel" who met the reality of Eretz Israel. And we also learned how Mikve Israel was developing together with those who built Israel, took part in the first and second wars and the role of the school in the Independence war.
I just arrived in the country and was looking for some community here. I knew nothing about this place, but decided to join the tour and learn more about the country I am living in. Thank you very much for the very informative and unforgettable journey. The place is amazing and the spring flowers made me crazy) Thank you one more time to Shishi Shabbat Israeli and especially to Inna Gorshtein for the wonderful tour and fascinating story!!!

The night before Passover, fifty of our participants, including many new Ukrainian and Russian Olim from the war zone, hiked from Tekoa Dalet with our dear guide Yair, walked three hours in the Judean Desert, finishing 3 a.m. in Maaleh Rehavam.
We met them there with firewood, guitars, flour, and wate, made matzot on the Saj, sang, talked about Pesach and freedom. There wasn’t enough time to get to know one another, but sitting by this fire together and watching the sky lighten over the wide, magnificent desert, I felt that freedom is finding community, seeking meaning with others. Freedom is a value that the world learned through Am Yisrael on this very day 3000 years ago. Freedom is also Eretz Yisrael, which is gathering us to her and God-willing will continue to bless our personal and national paths.

We met in Haifa with Arkady and Hadar Yachad to learn together about Pesach, one of the central holidays of the Jewish calendar.
We learned about the history and meaning of Pesach, baked and tasted our own matzah, and each participant received their personal Passover Haggadah.
I'm ready for Passover! Thanks to Arkady and Shishi Shabbat Yisraeli for this great evening.
Now I have a new skill and know how to bake matzah!

During this fascinating tour of the Salad Trail Farm in Moshav Talmei Yosef, we learned about the "art" of growing fruits and vegetables in the Negev desert.
We saw how three-meter cherry tomatoes grow and learned about specially trained bees from Kibbutz Yad Mordechai. We tasted Chinese oranges and extra red oranges, watched how strawberries are grown, learned why they are hung up, and picked various useful plants for making tea. We even released homing pigeons together!
In addition, we heard the stories of residents in towns surrounding Gaza and even saw unusual art created from the remnants of rockets.

Rafael Shochat shared the historical events and traditions of the Passover holiday through the prism of films, cartoons, and visual arts.
I was so glad to attend Rafael’s lecture. We watched excerpts from various films and cartoons connected to Pesach that are now on my “to watch” list! Rafael brought us two colorful Haggadahs, one of them an impressive “vintage” edition, and the second very creative with beautiful drawings. Thanks to the lecturer, I learned many new things today!

This It was a very deep and fascinating lecture about several traditional Pesach songs – including Who Knows One and One Kid. Our wonderful lecturer Yevgeny Treyberman helped us to translate these songs and explained to us the profound meaning of the words.
I learned a lot of new things! I never imagined how interesting it can be to analyze Pesach songs!

We plunged into creating flower compositions with the artist Kira Bondarenko. We learned how to draw flowers in a way that makes them "alive" and developed our creativity in wonderful company.
It was great to take a break from my intense work week and enjoy such good company. Kira is a great teacher who explains things well, and helps us notice details and elements of light, and shadow in our drawings.
I was so happy to convey the warmth and beauty of the long-awaited Spring in my picture!
