Tour guide Asia Fix began the tour with the history of Bat Yam history the Ramat Yosef area and how the museum was built in the 1950’s.
We visited the house of the artist Ribak, who created City-Factory, whose main goal is to build a community where people can create together.
In this space, people meet once a week and create art objects from thrown away objects like toys, clothes etc. The factory is open to the public to buy things and take part in creating art.
The participants joined the workshop and created their own recycled pieces of art.
This artist Shimshoni is completely crazy, in a good way, I mean. Only such people can come up with an important and also absolutely ridiculous social art-project. I really liked him and his ideas and would be glad to be a part of something like this myself.

What else could one ask for for a perfect Thursday evening? A concert of the legendary rock group "Tipex," under the open night sky, beer from over twenty breweries, and lots of delicious, original appetizers?
All this we enjoyed during the "BEER IN THE DESERT" Festival in Tekoa, in collaboration with the Regional Council of Gush Etzion.
Cold beer and great music with great people in the middle of the desert - all travelers have dreamed about it, but this dream came true for a whole busload of Shishi Shabbat Yisraeli participants!

For the next part in our series of historical tours of Haifa, we explored the emergence of the "new Haifa" in the second half of the 18th century, when the autonomous Arab ruler Zahir al-Umar al-Zaydani ordered to move the fishing village of Haifa to a new location and enclose it with a city wall. This is how New Haifa was born. The excursion started in the Lower City, walking along walls that no longer exist today and visiting the remains of the old city buildings of the ancient town.
This was a very informative excursion and I am so glad to be able to attend this whole series of historical tours. Thanks to the guide for a fascinating opportunity to know about our city. I await the next meetings!

Napoleon opened Pandora's box. He became the first European general since the defeat of the Crusaders to appear in the Holy Land.
A half century later, many European powers were already represented in Jerusalem.
In an unforgettable tour of the center of Jerusalem with Pavel Bernshtein, we discussed the changes that took place in the city after the appearance of the Europeans, and observed the architectural heritage that France, Prussia, Britain, Austria, the Russian Empire, and even America left behind.
Thank you so much for this opportunity!

We met with a police representative in Beersheva, Andrey Poshivay, who spoke to us about law enforcement in Israel. We all received good advice for “dummies” – new Olim who know nothing about the system! We got acquainted with the laws and learned how to avoid trouble, and held a fascinating, open dialogue on the hottest topics.
Police Officer Andrey gave us very complete answers. I believe such meetings are essential to all new olim, and it would be great to have a series of this type in the future.

“The last night before arriving in Jaffa, I was sleepless ... My thoughts are haunted ... Yes! The shore of the ancestral land! And fear grows inside. I was afraid! Jaffa! Jaffa! There is a lot of excitement on the ship, all the passengers are packing their things ... ” Why was Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, the man who revived the spoken Hebrew, so excited?
Our guide Olga Andreeva described these feeling during a new excursion, "Port of Hope", about Jewish life and community in Jaffa. We explored traces of the first Jewish community, including a monument, Jewish hotels and much more.
We saw the steps which the future founding fathers of the Jewish state climbed to the Holy Land, learned about the demolished Jewish neighborhood in the center of Jaffa and the first trade deals in Hebrew.
She talked about the demolishing of the old Customs building in the port last summer during Corona, and the return of vibrant Jewish life to Jaffa in recent year

I’m very glad to know that in Israel there is such a wonderful family like yours - the family of “Shishi Shabbat Israeli”. I think that it is great idea to gather young people and to explore with them our amazing country with seminars and excursions, like our seminar in Nes Amim.
The really liked the tour in Acre with Rostik and appreciate how the organization invites professional guides and lecturers to make every weekend so informative. The discussions and lectures on Shabbat about the Tisha b’Av, themes I never thought about before, helped me to understand our Jewish traditions from different points of view and in the end, find many new friends.
Thank you for this amazing journey! And don’t stop!

Our lecturer Victoria Gonik is a financial consultant with an MBA degree, specializing in finance and retirement. We spoke about how to protect ourselves from unforeseen situations, what types of state protection Israel already offers, and what is offered on the private market. How best to build our portfolio of insurance.
This was a very beneficial lecture about how insurance works in Israel, how to correctly submit requests, which additional insurance should be purchased and which to avoid. Thanks to Victoria for clearly explaining such an important topic.

Alex Tabak, a professiona Israeli guide, wide traveller and photographer, led us virtually through Buchara using his photos. Alex told us about the significant geography of the city along the Silk Route and the presence of Jewish traders in the city. Together with Alex we toured the world heritage fortress Ark and the Kalyan minaret that served as a lighthouse. We learned how to distinguish Jews from Muslims by their hats and where to find mezuzas in the Jewish home. We talked about synagogues in Bukhara that are hidden in private houses, the Jewish community there, and four Torah Scrolls that survived the ravages of two wars and the Soviet Union.
It was so cool how Alex used his own travel experience and photos of simple people with unusual and interesting life stories. I loved the story of Usuf, who writes Torah scrolls in Midras. And the Jewish girls who embroidered the Parohet for the Aron HaKodesh, leaving one corner undone to defend against the evil eye. There were many small details that helped us feel the real atmosphere of the city!

We organized a city quest in Haifa and the German Colony in collaboration with the lecture club, "Rifruf" and their founder Ekaterina Biryukova. In competitive teams, we searched our beloved city to solve riddles, analyze hidden symbols, and discover treasures and unexpected and exciting facts about the history of Haifa!
It was a great experience! I enjoyed every minute and learned many new facts about Haifa. Also, we took first place this time! Hooray!
