Evgeny shared with us many of the mentions of witchcraft in the Tanakh and Talmud. We heard stories about rabbis who sent a Golem in the guise of a human from one to another in jest, and many years later, their sons discussed whether killing a Golem was considered murder or not.
I really like how Zhenya told stories from the Talmud. He made them so understandable. After his lectures you want to read about Jewish sages yourself. There are lots of traditions, messages and stories hidden in the Jewish texts, so I finally understand why people have studied them for ages.

Although we are all quarantined, Pesach is coming. Most Israelis are familiar with Seder Pesach from childhood, but for many of us, its long texts and rules are incomprehensible. David Wainshtein helped create order for us (because Seder means "order" in Hebrew).
Judith Gros Wainshtein began with a discussion of the different Hebrew words "Herut" and “Hofesh” - regarding our liberation from slavery in Egypt. David continued by explaining the symbols of the Pesach table, the Haggadah in depth and it’s relation to our story as former Soviet Jews, including the five generations of our families through our lives in Israel today.
I always thought that Seder Pesach was a very dull ceremony where you read lots of texts while starving and waiting for the food. Thanks to this lecture, I finally understand that Seder Pesach is not only a significant part of our tradition, but it can be enjoyable with the right people!
