Inna Gorshtein took us on a virtual, historical tour of Petr Ginz’s family and his childhood in Prague in the late 1930s, and his life and fate in the Theresienstadt concentration camp. We spoke about why his work differs from other camp artists, and the newspaper that he published with other prisoners. Inna also showed us photos from Petr's and his sister Jevea’s diaries, who dedicated her life after World War II to researching and sharing Petr Ginz’s story. Today Javea is over 90 years old, lives in Israel and continues to draw and exhibit in Israel and the Czech Republic.
It was very moving for me to get acquainted with the life of artist Petr Ginz on the eve of Yom HaShoa. Many thanks for the professionalism of the lecturer and the Russian translations of the poems and diaries, which helped us immerse ourselves in his world and better understand the artist's work. This left me with hope that the work of Petr Ginz will be preserved in history.

Olga Tuzmukhamedova is a marketing specialist in the wine industry for over 10 years. She shared her knowledge about modern kosher winemaking, and grape varieties in Israel, including ancient varieties which grow only in our country. At the end of the meeting, Olga shared her tips where to taste good quality, prize-winning Israeli wine and what gifts of wine to share with friends abroad.
A fascinating and detailed lecture! I always thought that the wine is kosher only if the winemaker is Jewish, but I understand now that it is a very different story. Thanks a lot to Olga and we plan to start a diary of Israeli wine tasting!

Andrei Borovsky started the lecture with the story of Jews in Austria at the end of the 19th century, their assimilation, and the image of Jewish life in the art of that time. Then we explored the fate of Isidor Kaufmann, a very successful and unique artist, who traveled to Poland and Ukraine depicted Jewish shtetl life. We saw examples of the fashion of the 18th and 19th Century, including embroidery, household items, religious items like the Talit, and other costumes of the time.
In previous lectures on Jewish and Israeli artists, we discussed a lot of what makes an artist a Jewish artist, and today I had the opportunity to get acquainted with a true Jewish artist - a keeper of Jewish traditions. Thanks to Andrei Borovsky for shedding light on the life of Jews in other times and places.
