From time immemorial, wine has been a part of world culture and Jewish culture. This time together with the Jerusalem Club in the Begin Heritage Center, we invited our participants to taste and unravel its secret with us. Different vendors let us sample their wines, and six fantastic lecturers shared their knowledge of wine and its history with us. It was a great, informative festival of the wine of the Land of Israel!

Our Table Games events draw more and more people every month in Haifa, Bat Yam, Beer Sheva, and we love seeing new faces and building warm community in all our regions. People come to have quality time together, play fun games, converse and meet new friends, and we often see them afterwards at our other events!
I come here not only to play, but because of the atmosphere and the people. Thank you, Shishi, for this great place to be!

Michael Girel, serial entrepreneur, founder and CEO of the international company "AuxBridge," facilitated a fascinating and practical workshop about entrepreneurship and how to make it a lifestyle. This time there were a lot of newcomers, including Masa participants who plan to stay in Israel after their program finishes and have no real family here. We started our meeting by introducing our organization and our plans for the next couple of months. As a bonus to our traditional beer and snacks, we brought cocoa and marshmallows to warm up this evening of games together.
It’s my first time with Shishi Shabbat Yisraeli. I am so happy that there is such a great community in the city where I live now, and plan to stay after I formally make Aliyah!

Petah Tikva is a big city in the center of Israel with a very interesting history. It has some old buildings from the first years of Israel’s founding, but few young people in Israel know its important and exciting history. After discussing the origins of the name Petach Tikva, our guide Dima Esterkin led us on a rainy and cold day through all the interesting and important historical places of the city, including the houses of the first settlers, and the local market. Over the course of 3 hours, Dima shared many wonderful anecdotes and historical facts and events, and everyone enjoyed this excursion.

To help commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Boris Dolin led us on a virtual walk through the streets of Warsaw today, and the remains of Warsaw of the 1940’s and the most significant Jewish ghetto.
We learned about the ghetto and the rich Jewish life that preceded it, about the functions of the Judenrat and the people's hopelessness but efforts to help one another. We discussed the Warsaw Ghetto uprising and the struggle of these brave people, commemorated today only by a pile of stones. The ghetto wall remains in today's Warsaw, but its streets and houses are in ruins.

We began this wondrous, warm weekend in the Dead Sea with a tour by Guy Erlich of the Balm of Gilead farm, where his dream of growing afarsemon, biblical mor, levona, and other ancient valuable, therapeutic plants is coming true. He rubbed us with 80% accurate annointing oil, prepared a type of “ketoret” from the time of the Temple, and described ancient Jewish agriculture and customs. We hiked up Hurkania mountain to drink tea and take family photos, and spent Shabbat in Kibbutz Almog, including pre-Shabbat singing, an evening competitive quiz connected to Tu b’Shvat, a Ten Commandments workshop connected to Parshat Hashavua, and an inspiring talk on Shabbat with Shani Kotev, a former paratrooper who was wounded during an IDF operation, made a miraculous recovery and today continues his grandfather’s pioneering work in the desert.

At the drawing master class with Kira Bondarenko, we prepared gifts for ourselves and our loved ones for Tu Bishvat, got to know each other, spoke about the holiday, and laughed a lot. In the creative atmosphere, we painted cups mastered a new painting technique on glass with paints and contours.
Thank you so much for an unforgettable morning and positive emotions @shishi.co.il. I fulfilled my old dream to draw, to make something beautiful! I met some fantastic people and had a great time!
