This Friday, we organized a tour of the Beersheva Anzac Memorial Center. Our tour guide started the excursion from the old Turkish railway station, walking us through the historical buildings and an original steam locomotive, an exhibition of photographs "Jerusalem has many faces." Then we continued to the British Cemetery and heard the stories of the soldiers who died liberating Beersheva in the First World War, and visited the Anzac Soldiers Memorial Center, where they listened to the riveting Australian and New Zealand Lighthorse story from 1917.
Such an exciting tour! Our talented made this the old Turkish station and cemetery and fascinating history come to life! The Anzac Museum turned out to be very unusual, with a room with an elevator and its interesting composition. I hope to learn even more about this part of our country’s history. Thank you very much!

We spoke about pension insurance in Israel. What is the difference between Pension Fund and Kupat Gemel? What is Educational Fund? Why do we need health insurance? Why shouldn't we take severance pay? These topics are equally important to new immigrants and more veteran Israelis alike. Mikhail Lazerson explained to us how to understand the system and customize it for ourselves.

We enjoyed a new graffiti tour of Haifa, within the framework of the festival "Sira" - which means "boat". Participants learned about the social culture of graffiti, the development of graffiti artists in Haifa and Israel.
We also walked along the works on Shivat Zion Street and spoke about their authors and techniques.
It was exciting to learn about Haifa's underground life, what movements are created here, and about various creative graffiti artists. Thank you for introducing me to this part of life in Haifa!!

29.04.2021 | Bat Yam
We met with artist Maria Dobrovolskaya in Menachem Begin Park in Bat Yam and began our workshop learning about Menachem Begin and why the park was named after him. We then got to know each other through icebreakers and Masha taught us some basics of a "quick sketch" which we practiced, including drawing shadow and volume. She gave us additional tasks to help us improve our techniques.
Masha was very supportive! She didn't try to draw instead of me, but explained and gave me the real tools to improve. That is really cool. I like to draw, but I do not have time to do it often. Thanks to Shishi Shabbat I had this opportunity.

Every week, three of us get together to discuss the weekly parasha, ask questions, suggest answers, be surprised, indignant, in awe, and of course, reflect on the Eternal. We are an orthodox Chabad Rabbi Yigal, a hipster programmer Edik and the cheerful Haifa Director of Shishi Shabbat Yisraeli, Lidia.
Let's see how both religious and secular people understand the Tanach based on their world views and experiences.

I wanted to send you a big thank you! You are doing fantastic work, you are incredible! I’m listening to you in Ufa (Russia) every week, and you motivated me to read Tanach before every podcast edition to increase my understanding! And even more than that, I suddenly feel a need to visit our local synagogue at least once a week. Before that, I felt very distant from Jewish tradition. Thank you so much, and good luck!

I attended an Shishi Shabbat Yisraeli seminar for the first time and enjoyed every moment. We visited Sde Boker and hiked in the Ramon Crater and slept Bedouin-style in Derech B’Samim, visited the amazing Timna Nature reserve and Eilat – and it was just great! It gave me the opportunity to meet lots of amazing people, enjoy new sites and rest. Our musical campfire and Shabbat was dedicated to Lag B'Omer, with stories and lectures which created a very warm, magical, and special atmosphere. I also loved hearing people’s experiences from previous seminars. I hope to attend more Shishi Shabbat events – thanks to all the organizers.

We came back to our favorite Rodeo bar for table games and socializing, after such a long break because of COVID-19. Cheerful company, cozy atmosphere, many different games for different interests!
Thank you for this welcome break from work and study!
I am so glad to come back to our good old game traditions and meet familiar faces there! We haven't gathered for so long, and this makes it doubly pleasant to meet again!!

ARGAMAN - MUSEUM OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE – SYNAGOGUES EXHIBITION
April 9th, 2021 - Tel Aviv and Central Region
Guide and informal educator Asya Fix began our tour in the newly revamped Museum of the Jewish People with the story of the Khodorov Synagogue ceiling and the importance of preserved wooden synagogues and old murals. We spoke about the connection of drawings with Kabbalistic symbols and traditions of Eastern Eurpean Jews. We continued the tour with an historical introduction of the functions of the synagogue and archaeological evidence of the first synagogues in Israel. Then we moved from one model to another, discussing the history, architecture, traditions and customs of different European Jewish communities, the differences between Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews, the migration of Jews in the Middle Ages, and which buildings survive in Eastern Europe to this day. We ended our journey on the third floor with a photograph by Roman Vishnyak from his book “A Vanished World”.
I never was in this museum before but it seems that it would be hard to enjoy these exhibitions without a professional guide. So thank you Argaman project for such a detailed review of the Jewish world before the Second World War. It’s very important to remember and share.

UNKNOWN GALLERIES OF TEL-AVIV
April 23rd, 2021 - Tel Aviv and Central Region
Maria Malakh, a Jewish educator, specializing in israeli art, led us around Tel Aviv through small galleries of mainly contemporary Israeli art. We started with the Braverman Gallery, where we talked about the female body, depression and hysteria (a great start for Friday), and then moved on to the Noga and Sommer Gallery, where we talked about painting artists' self-expression. A special bonus was a small gallery at the French Institute, where we met one of the artists who spoke about her work. During this walk, we tried less to understand contemporary art and more to catch our emotions when looking at various artworks.
Firstly, it was fun to visit such places which I would never have found by myself. And secondly, I always thought that behind each object there must lie deep thought. But it turns out that sometimes you just need to b be able to hear your own thoughts and the meaning comes to you. Thanks Argaman, it was very interesting.
