Our trip to Kibbutz Yad Mordechay was devoted to several important dates: Yom HaShoa, Yom HaZikaron and Yom Haatzmaut. We visited the exhibitions showing the role of the Kibbutz in the Independence war, including members memories of the events. In the second hall we explored pre-war Warsaw and Jewish life before the Nazi atrocities began in Poland. Then we went to the model of Warsaw Ghetto and talked about how Jews lived in the Ghetto and the role of Mordechai Anilevich. At the Cemetery we remembered the Independence war and its impact on our lives today. We finished our tour in the hall dedicated to water resources of the desert about modern Yad Mordekhay.
This one of the best museums dedicated to the Shoa that I have never seen. Many thanks to Asya for this wonderful tour, and all the interesting and well-structured information. The fact that kibbutz is one of the biggest honey manufacturers makes me want to come back and taste some honey next time.

Shishi Shabbat Yisraeli held an outdoors painting master class and allowed the participants to plunge into the world of relaxing painting in nature. On this sunny and warm day, in a peaceful atmosphere of complete relaxation, the participants drew sketches under the guidance of a professional artist Ksenia Revzin. Sketches have become very fashionable lately, and this is an essential part of the artist's work. The nature of the Yarkon Park in Tel Aviv was chosen as a drawing object. Several hours of the master class flew by, and the friendly atmosphere of a picnic on the grass only added to the pleasure.

After a hard pandemic year full of restrictions, it was incredible to plunge into the world of "Shishi Shabbat Yisraeli" again, which, as always, presented new exciting acquaintances and meeting old friends. It was enjoyable to do this on Independence Day when the first steps towards liberation from the virus magically connected with the miracle of the appearance of the Jewish state on the world map 73 years ago.
The journey into the depths of the Hariton cave as part of the excursion was dirty, dusty, dark, and very narrow in places, so the long-awaited feeling of liberation when going outside was very rewarding! In Neve Daniel, together with hospitable Linda, Zeev and their beautiful children, a picnic, music, competitions and, as always, a great atmosphere was waiting for our two buses, including many lone soldiers.
I hope no more pandemics will prevent us from getting together!

Buying an apartment in Israel is a reality or a dream? This time we organized an online meeting with real estate advocate Oleg Slavutsky about buying and renting apartments in Israel The online event was divided into 2 parts: In the first part, Oleg spoke about buying an apartment.
What documents are required for a bank (mortgage)? What are the duties of a lawyer? How to insure against trouble when buying? How do we transfer money? and many other questions that arise when buying an apartment in the Holyland.
In the second part, Oleg talked about renting apartments in Israel - theory and practice in transactions, correct communication between landlords and tenants, possible problems in lease contracts etc.
We hope this lecture helped the founding of new family hearths for young families in Israel.

We met with Stas Frankin, guide of the Holocaust Museum, dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of Holocaust Victims and Resistance Heroes.
We spoke about the fate of Jewish women, from the 1930s to the end of the war, how women fought and tried to escape during the war, and why they hardly talked about their experiences.
A very touching meeting about the role of women during the Holocaust. About the strength and courage of women in an incredible and hellish situation where they lost their children, husbands, and families.
I learned several personal stories that touched my heart. Very few of these courageous women are still alive. Thanks to Stas for this meeting! #weremember

Jewish educator and specialist in the history of art and literature Gera Grudev opened his session explaining the photo as media, especially in the XXth century. Gera quoted the words of Robert Kappa (journalist) that the photo shouldn't be propaganda. It should evoke sympathy to the kind and serve to good. During the lecture, Gera drew our attention to several pictures that reflect significant moments in our history. "Falling soldier" by Robert Kappa made the revolution in photo-journalism. The next photo - "Liquidation of Jewish Ghetto," where the boy raised his hands, was supposed to be the report for upstairs, not for publication. But the picture became the symbol of the Holocaust. The last photo we discussed is "Woman with bag" by Hans Runesson 1985, Sweden - a woman beats a Nazi with her bag. It's the story of Danuta Danielson. We heard about how this photograph created a new image of fighting against the Nazis and how it influences contemporary art.
I have never thought that photos could impact the modern perception of events and art. Gera is a fantastic specialist with a unique perspective. I've learned so many new things during these couple of hours, and I am sure that I will watch it once again.

Together with Yulik Hazanovich, we revealed the unsolved secrets of Jerusalem. The most intriguing city in the world, where adventurers, swindlers, and romantics from Italy, Britain, France, the Russian Empire, and Germany returned to Jerusalem streets and dream of uncovering all of her ancient secrets.
We continued to talk about archeology, but with a focus on Jerusalem and her fascinating stories. We began with Esther Stanhope, a British aristocrat, socialite, and traveler, whose archaeological expedition to Ashkelon in 1815 marked the beginning of the history of the archeology in the holy land. We discussed the discoveries of archaeologists from all over the world, about different archeological periods in Jerusalem, the search for Temple treasures and the ring and crown of King Solomon, and the Holy Grail. Jerusalem archeology has confirmed many words of Tanach, the most-read book in the world, which includes clear descriptions of the ancient Temple Mount.

Tour guide and teacher Aryeh Turovsky held a webinar about the flora and fauna of Israel, including anecdotes about how the Jews stole reindeer from the Persians, how scavenger birds became “king,” and why Israel is considered the birthplace of the elephant.
This fascinating webinar drove home the fact that Israel, although a small country, contains so much of everything in its backyard, including incredible wildlife. Thanks to Aryeh for sharing such valuable and intriguing information with us!

Two buses, masks, and capsules of 20 - we set out in high spirits for our first Friday-Shabbat Seminar in too long!! We visited the Prophet Samuel’s tomb, Nebi Mussa, and King Hussein’s unfinished palace north of Jerusalem, hiked and drank tea near Jericho and then spent Shabbat in beautiful Kibbutz Almog North of the Dead Sea.
“The Shabbaton in Almog was the first for me. It was literally a breath of fresh air and rare opportunity for high-level Jewish engagement after two lockdowns. I really appreciate the activities of "Shishi Shabbat" - not only the scholarly and positive lecturers with inimitable senses of humor, but also the self-selected, smart participants!! I found many of them brilliant. I made new friends with whom I spend time with now, and will definitely be participating and recommending your upcoming events to my friends. Thank you!!”
