There is no better time than Corona to hold creative womens’ gatherings where we both make beautiful artwork and spend time together. This time we helped finish unfinished paintings by our facilitator and friend, the artist Ksenya Budilovich.
Thanks to the wonderful women and Ksenya, this turned out to be a very cozy and creative evening, and my picture is now ready to be framed! Looking forward to the next meeting!

Problems with work, wages, and the search for another job during this coronavirus period have become prominent in many people's lives. We organized a meeting with Katya Dymshits, who has over ten years of experience in the Israeli recruiting market. For the last 1.5 years - in one of the leading recruiting agencies in high-tech and cyber companies. She told the participants how to make sure their profile appears in all searches for candidates, what recruiters pay attention to, how to look for work on using social media, and what is happening to the labor market during COVID-19 crisis. What other programs and sites are there for job-hunting, what is most important in a resume. She answered all our many questions.

Leonid Suslo, an Israeli Lawyer specializing in court property execution (hotza’a le poal)
Many people in Israel, especially Olim Hadashim, rent apartments. It's a great challenge to find the apartment that meets your expectations and budget, and an even greater challenge dealing with the contract details.
Leonid Suslo, an Israeli Lawyer specializing in court property execution (hotza’a le poal) shared with us very useful tips about the rights and responsibilities of tenants and owners and how to protect yourself from being cheated.
Leonid also told us what a Standard contract is and why owners ask for so many guarantees from their tenants.
Thank you Shishi for raising such an important topic. As an Oleh Hadash, I am very interested in information about renting apartments, medicine, taxes... I would really appreciate if you could bring more lecturers on these topics.

Sofia Kvasha, the co-founder of the Jobplanner project and the CV Builder platform, was our first lecturer in our "Conversations with the PRO” series. We learned about the most essential aspects of writing a resume, key words that you need to use to pass the initial screening, the order to present information about yourself, and many more necessary nuances.
She based her lecture on her experience interacting with HR managers and recruiters of a vast number of Israeli companies.

Ksenia Revzin is a professional artist with degrees in fine arts and architecture and a participant in international exhibitions. Ilana Gur Museum is a really unique place. It’s the home of famous Israeli artist Ilana Gur, and also a collection of expensive and unique artworks made by world-known artists. Together with Ksenia, we explored the house from the ground floor to the rooftop, with its great view of Jaffa port and the sea, learning about Ilana herself and her collection. The cherry on the icing was a painting workshop on the cozy roof of the house.
It's amazing that I've been to Jaffa so many times, but never visited the Ilana Gur museum! It's a home with a terrific history and energy. My gratitude to Ksenia for the tour and painting workshop on that gorgeous roof!

Have you ever heard of Nahal Park in Beer Sheva? Do you know that we will have lake in our desert? Nahal Park is home to countless groves and gardens, beautiful green areas, fascinating historical sites, stunning playgrounds, a lake under construction, and much more! It is one of a series of major projects implemented in recent years by the municipality of Beer Sheva. During our tour, we learned about plans including hotels, tourism, and recreation while preserving urban nature. We discuss water flow issues in the river bed, the ornithological complex, the sports complex, and bridges over the city, We also heard important stories from our past in this area about our ancestor Abraham, and the Anzac Cavalry, who conquered the city in World War I (already familiar to us from the last excursion) and the pioneers Mitspe Beit Eshel, who settled here before the founding of the state.
A very interesting excursion to an amazing place! Thank you Shishi Shabbat Yisraeli!

Zeev Volk is a professional guide and informal Jewish educator in Israel, Odessa and New York. Tel Aviv is always associated with the Bauhaus architectural style, because of the highest concentrations of the buildings built in 1930-1950 in the Modernist style. Many of the buildings are included in the list of world's heritage buildings by UNESCO. During the lecture, Zeev discussed the phenomenon of the "White city", the architects who influenced the Tel Aviv skyline and the other cities of the Palestine Mandate and their connection to the Bauhaus school.
I always thought that everything built in the 30s was Bauhaus, but now I understand that they were more International style. After this lecture, it became even more interesting to walk in Tel Aviv and roused my curiosity to visit some of the early kibbutzim in the North.

In collaboration with the Haifa Museum, we walked through significant sites of Haifa from its history during the British Mandate to this day. We also talked about the city's layout and the idea of a "garden city", which was planned by architects then, as well as about the townspeople of that time.
I am very glad that I went on this excursion! I learned to look at old houses that I walk past every day from a historical point of view, and recreate a picture of the times of the British Mandate. Only now am I aware of the historical value these buildings have.

Lecture of Inna Gorshtein about Biblical Love in the Arts
August 4th, MoHo, Tel Aviv
Inna Gorshtein built her lecture on the basiсs of Meir Shalev's book "For the First Time in the Bible". We took passages from the Torah and discussed when the word LOVE first appeared in the Torah. Did Adam love Hava and Hava Adam. Who was the first mother who loved her son. Who was the only girl who was said to love a man? And why was the Song of Songs by King Solomon included in the Tanakh?
Each story was beautifully illustrated by famous artists of the last 10 centuries. In the end we had a discussion about how and when the concept of love and romance according to our understanding appeared in the world.
“I never thought about the fact that the word "ahava" appeared so rarely in the Torah. It was amazing for me to discover how we are trying to apply today's understanding of love to holy texts", – Sveta Kh.
Guided tour around the Biennale of Modern Israeli Art with Sasha Levina
August 25th, Muzeon Eretz Israel, Tel Aviv
We met at the entrance to the museum with Alexandra Levina, looked at several installations in open areas, then watched in the glass pavilion the Biennale exhibits– a pavilion-tower Migdal, a pavilion of ceramics, 2 more street installations "Not by bread alone" and "That which protects me".
After that we went to the Biennale exhibits in the main pavilion Rothschild, where we met one of the designers, Maya Gatenio, and asked questions about her work (dress with medieval embroidery).
"I was amazed by the installation "Mausoleum", which looks like the Kotel from the books of the "Jewish encyclopedia". It was an amazing tour after which I want to think about the connection between the past and the present, about the collective memory of the Jewish people. Thank you so much for taking us to places like this with cool guides"– Lyoka L.

Anna Morochnik is the Exhibition Director of the Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art from 2009 to 2014 and co-founder of the “Spasibo” studio.
We spoke about what a Biennale is and its meaning in Russian, which is different than an art fair. Why the Curator is the leading figure. and what are the most famous bienniales in the world?
It was interesting to hear about the art world and the impact of such exhibitions on countries. Thank you, Anna and Shishi Shabbat Yisraeli!
