It was wonderful for us to gather together to light the first festive candle of Chanuka in such pleasant company! For many it was their first Chanuka in Israel. After we sang the blessings, we watched a movie on the theme of Chanuka - an excellent, funny comedy about how a superhero saves world Jewry and the Chanuka festival. A fun and warm evening.

The topic of ecology and waste recycling is becoming more relevant every day, and Israel has some great examples of how to turn landfills into something beneficial. We toured beautiful and fascinating Ariel Sharon Park - the main garbage disposal landfill of Gush Dan and learned how materials from the landfill were used to create the park, how garbage is recycled today, and the ecology of Israel from its founding through the present day.

We organized a master class with the new Olah artist and illustrator Kate (Kay is Art). We learned elements of doodle-drawing, which is used both as art therapy and an art trend, and drawing exercises to relax and expand consciousness. The lesson included light music, and valuable tips for using doodling for meditation and therapy.

Our guest in November was Sonya Pashkevich, a young stand-up comedian. She participated in many competitions in Russia and Ukraine. She writes the lyrics herself, and shares part of her stand-up performances with her mom. Sonya shared a lot about herself and took many questions from the full audience that came to hear her.
The guest in December was David Homak, the creator of the site Lurkmor. He was interrogated by the Russian police for his website that supports liberal views. A criminal case was brought against him, but he managed to move to Israel.
There was a full hall (about 60 people) for him as well!

In Haifa, Sasha created an incredible tour of the beautiful suspension bridges in the city of Nesher. During the trip we played different games and completed tasks in teams, drank tea and coffee with cookies in nature and had and a fun and healthy time hiking together!
In South Tel Aviv, our participants explored an amazing historical place - the Ha Tikva District and Marlet. After all the modern reconstructions in the area, the old atmosphere, people, smells and authentic places have been preserved. There are small cafes in the area, where we tried new interesting dishes of oriental cuisine, prepared by Olim from Iraq, Iran, Algeria, and Yemen. Our guide Ina left us each with a desire for continued exploration of this area in the future.

Visiting psychologist and educator Artyom Mitryakhin from St. Petersburg ran a three-hour workshop on emotional intelligence and the "soft skills" that we require, beyond smarts and experience, that help us succeed in our relationships and in professional settings.
The seminar was really excellent and very useful, and the participants were very satisfied.

November 8, Dizengoff Square, Tel-Aviv
Sketching workshop with Kseniya Revzin
We met with a group on Dizengoff Square and started with a conversation about Tel Aviv’s architecture and our previous tour around modernism architecture with Zeev Volk, which ended on the same spot. We discussed what is important in sketching, how "knowing how" to draw is not necessary to make an interesting sketch, how to learn to look and see, make mistakes and try several times to make it work.
Then everyone took the materials, chose a house/view /object and spread out over the area. Ksenia (the artist and our teacher) helped and directed everyone, and we each took home several sketches of Tel Aviv.
"How great it is to start Friday in pleasant creative company! Thanks for the interesting workshop!"
Sofia L
"I really liked the way Ksenia shows and explains. I am usually afraid to draw the wrong line, but today I am close to believing that the wrong lines do not exist. Thanks to the Argaman project for this meeting!"

The 70th Shishi Shabbat Retreat in Mitzpe Ramon was my very first trip with this wonderful organization. Everything was just super: the people, the long, beautiful (challenging!) hike to the Yerucham Reservoir, the lectures by Eva on love and relationships and her fascination presentation of Hanuka, the competitions where we got to know one another, Ze’ev’s workshop on men and women, and of course the beautiful views of the Negev desert. And Lena’s Jewish art workshop with gorgeous materials celebrating 70 seminars together. The logistics and organization of accommodation and leisure went according to plan and without delay (which is rare for Israel :)) I had a wonderful weekend, and I'm already looking forward to the next seminar.
